VLC player out of sync

I have found that a large number of full HD videos are out of Sync (audio behind video) when I use VLC. I do not have the problem with other players. One thought I have a new 4K display, and only have noticed the issue on this display.

I've tested a mix and they seem fine on my VLC player. Have you tried changing the sync on your vlc media player with these keyboard short-cuts?

Mac: F and G
Windows: J and K

I have tried the shortcuts, but the lag is so bad it does not work 3-5 seconds at least. Here is my system report.

Is Joy of Feet, one of your sites. It is happening on those videos too. This is weird it only happens on videos from UK and on VLC. I am in the USA? Could it be a codec or something?

Downgrading VLC to 2.2.1 from 2.2.2 seems to have fixed the problem. Turns out the issue was with wmv files. Thanks for your help. There is a chance I am rushing to conclusions as I have only tried a couple of files.
